Ron Marz Comes to Northern Virginia with Baltimore Comic-Con

Press Release: As a last-minute reminder, Baltimore Comic-Con promoter Marc Nathan is bringing superstar writer Ron Marz (Artifacts, Voodoo) to the Shoff Baseball & Sports Card Shows & Comic Book & Nonsports Card Show in Tyson's Corner, VA this Sunday, January 29th. Stop by to see Ron and Marc, discuss this year's show, and buy some comics and cards! Marc will also have Exhibitor and Artist Alley forms for this years convention on September 8th and 9th.

The January 29th event will be held at the Tysons Corner, VA Crowne Plaza Hotel (formerly the Holiday Inn), 1960 Chain Bridge Road, McLean, VA 22102 from 10am-3:30pm, and admission is only $3/person. On Saturday, January 28th, Ron will be stopping by Cards Comics & Collectibles of Reisterstown, MD, 100 A Chartley Drive, Reisterstown, MD 21136 from 11am-2pm (which will feature 50% off trade paperbacks and hardcovers during Ron's visit!) and Laughing Ogre Comics in Fairfax, VA, 10647 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA 22032-2202 from 4pm-7pm.

Big Wow! ComicFest 2012 Adds Juanjo Guarnido and Liam Sharp

Press Release: Joining the line up for the 2012 Big Wow ComicFest are Juanjo Guarnido (Blacksad), from France and Liam Sharp (Gears of War) from England. Two Award Winning artists, both traveling to San Jose to meet their fans at the Big Wow! ComicFest.

Juanjo Guarnido, best known here is the US for his work on Blacksad published by Dark Horse Comics will be make a rare appearance at this years Big Wow! He will be traveling from Spain to greet his fans. Dark Horse themselves are very excited about his appearance, since they have never had the chance to meet this talented artist.

Also coming from overseas to join the talented lineup at Big Wow! ComicFest is award winning Heavy Metal and DC Comics artist, Liam Sharp. A friend of the show, Liam is pleased to return to Northern California to greet his fans.

Three of the greatest painters have joined the guest list of this 2012?s Big Wow! ComicFest. Along with other great talents at this years show in the art of painting (like Dan Brereton, Bernie Wrightson, Tim Bradstreet, Joe Linsner and more), Joe Jusko, James O’Barr and Mark Texeira have al agreed to make the West Coast trip and join the fans for the 2012 Big Wow! ComicFest.

James O’Barr (Best known for his creating “The Crow”) is looking forward to joining the live art showcase and plans on challenging all the other artists to pick up a brush and just try to out do the creation he has in store for the fans, he wants to “raise the bar” on the quality of convention art.

Anime St. Louis 2012 Announces First Round Of Guests

Press Release: Anime St. Louis is pleased to announce its first round of guests, which include new faces to the St. Louis area and returning favorites.

The first guest announced is Steve Argyle, a talented artist who has done work for Magic: The Gathering, Legend of the Five Rings, Dungeons and Dragons, and much more.  Mr. Argyle will be having a booth in the Artist Alley during the event, and will also participate in the convention’s programming.  Fans old and new can find out more about his works by going to his website at http://steveargyle.com/.

Anime St. Louis’s second guest of honor is the multi-talented voice actor Bob Bergen.  Mr. Bergen has provided voices for Spirited Away as No-Face, Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro and Lupin III: The Mystery of Mamo as Lupin III, and Robot Chicken as Luke Skywalker just to name a few.  He is best known as the voice of Porky Pig in a variety of Looney Tunes movies and shows, including Space Jam, The Duck Dodgers TV series, and the new Looney Tunes Show.  Bob Bergen will only be at Anime St. Louis on Friday, April 20th.  On April 21st and 22nd, he will be teaching an advanced voice-acting workshop at Shock City Studios in St. Louis, MO.  Details about the voice-acting workshop can be found at http://animestl.net/guests/bob-bergen/.  For more information about Bob Bergen, please visit his website at http://www.bobbergen.com/.

Finally, Anime St. Louis is proud to announce some returning favorites to its convention.  Sleeping Samurai will be back to provide their unique brand of fighting entertainment with exhibitions and tournaments throughout the weekend.  Nexus Gaming Alliance will also be returning to provide a mix of the latest and memorable video gaming titles in Anime St. Louis’s video game room.  Nexus has provided a fantastic gaming experience at other conventions including Gen-Con and Anime USA, and they are excited to be returning to St. Louis.

The first show of 2012 will be the Philadelphia Comic-Con this Sunday, January 15th, and he'll be bringing along his pal, JG Jones.
