Baltimore, MD August 18, 2009 – Long Beach Comic Con is proud to announce that Comic Book Legend Stan Lee will host the ribbon cutting ceremony that will officially declare the start of the inaugural Long Beach Comic Con. The ceremony will take place Friday, October 2nd at the site of Long Beach Comic Con, the Long Beach Convention Center.

Additionally, Long Beach Comic Con is offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to five lucky fans who pre-order their weekend convention passes. These five fans will be chosen at random for a private Meet and Greet event with Lee on opening day of the convention. Information is available at www.longbeachcomiccon.com.

Hero Initiative and Desert Wind Comics are also arranging for five additional individuals to attend the Meet & Greet event. Details will be available on their respective websites shortly.

Stan “The Man” Lee, whose comic book career spans over 60 years, is the mind behind the biggest names in the comic book universe. His body of work is far and away the most extensive in the history of comic books. Simply put, there is no bigger name in the world of comic books.
