Colossalcon Announces Second Round of Guests

Colossalcon_9_2010_thumb

Colossalcon has announced their 2nd round of guests! J. Michael Tatum, Chris Cason, Cristina Vee, and Leah Clark will be attending Ohio's summer waterpark anime convention in Sandusky, OH. The standing list of guests includes: Wendy Powell, Todd Haberkorn, Vic Mignogna, Aaron Dismuke, and Chibi Jae!

ABOUT J. MICHAEL TATUM: Nurtured on anime classics from the tender age of Star Blazers, et al, this reclusive fanboy-turned-voice actor/writer/ADR director/flake extraordinaire spent more years than he cares to remember in what might charitably be described as freefall before landing -mostly by accident--smack dab on the industry of his dreams. To this day, some believe the small crater made by the impact remains the source of his power. Discovered by Funimation warhorse and visionary ADR director Christopher Bevins, who cast him as Rikichi in 2005's Samurai 7, Tatum's inexplicable luck held long enough to see his flag hoisted on a slew of dream roles, most notably Kyoya Otori in the hit English language dub of Ouran High School Host Club. Other characters the man still can't believe he's had the crazy good fortune to play include: Doumeki in XXXHolic, Jiro Mochizuki in Black Blood Brothers, Isaac Dian in Baccano! God Eneru in the new dub of One Piece, Komui Lee in D-Gray Man, Dororo in Sgt. Frog, and the titular loveable savage of Heroic Age...not to mention Lawrence in Spice and Wolf, and Scar in Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. His vocal "stylings," much to the chagrin of drama teachers everywhere, he's sure, have also been featured in Romeo X Juliet, Speed Grapher, Trinity Blood, Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple, Black Cat, Nabari no Ou, Ghost Hunt, School Rumble, The Tower of Druaga, Aquarion, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles, Shuffle, Shigurui, Glass Fleet, Mushishi, and the feature-length film Vexille, among many others. And as if being involved with so many awesome shows wasn't enough, in late 2007 the fluky so-and-so tempted fate by officially branching out into ADR directing and adaptive scriptwriting for Funimation as well. His ADR directing credits to date include Aquarion, Jyu-oh-Sei, Romeo X Juliet, Big Windup, and Rin, while his writing credits include substantial work on both Ouran High School Host Club, Heroic Age and Blassreiter. He is currently burning the midnight oil on a number of exciting projects due for release later this year. And before you ask, the "J" stands for... Well, it stands for whatever you'd like it to.Colossalcon_9Colossalcon 9

ABOUT CRISTINA VEE: Cristina is known for her work as Nanoha in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Noel Vermillion/ v-13 in BlazBlue, Haruhi Suzumiya in The Adventures of the ASOS Brigade and she's also Johnny Yong Bosch's AnimeTV co-host! She has been in anime such as Rozen Maiden: Träumend as Kanaria, AIKa R-16: Virgin Mission as Aika Sumeragi, The Familiar of Zero as Louise, Haré+Guu as Rachel, Kannazuki no Miko as Misaki, Tweeny Witches as Melissa, and several other titles and video games. This will be Cristina's 2nd Colossalcon in a row!

ABOUT CHRIS CASON: For over ten years, Chris Cason has participated in almost every facet of anime production. Some of Chris's voice credits include: "Gluttony" in Fullmetal Alchemist, "Tien Shinhan" and "Mr. Popo" in Dragonball Z "Jack the Ripper" and "Watson" in Soul Eater, "Boo" and "Whitey" in Shin-Chan, "Miyamoto" and "M1" in Yu Yu Hakusho, "Chamo" in Negima, "Hanai" in School Rumble, and "Babbit" in Kodocha. C2E2 Announces “An Evening with Neil Gaiman”

c2e2Main_thumb_thumbCelebrated Author and Industry Icon to Appear on Behalf of Comic Book Legal Defense Fund at Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo

New York, NY, March 5, 2010: Neil Gaiman, the award winning author of novels, film, and comics including the epoch changing graphic novel series The Sandman will take the stage for a benefit appearance on behalf of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund at Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2). An “Evening with Neil Gaiman”, a paid ticketed event, will happen on Saturday night, April 17, with 100% of the proceeds going to benefit the First Amendment legal work of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.

The last time Gaiman performed theatrical readings was ten years ago when he did the “Last Angel Tour.” On that tour, he criss-crossed the country doing sold-out evenings reading stories and poems, new material and beloved tales in order to draw attention to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. The “Last Angel Tour” was meant to have been the last ever such tour, and it produced the long-since sold out LIVE AT THE ALADDIN film. Even the posters from that tour now sell for hundreds of dollars. c2e2MainC2E2

That was ten years ago. A generation has grown up who have not seen an evening with Neil Gaiman. In these ten years he’s published such books as American Gods, Coraline and The Graveyard Book. He’s made movies and operas. He even started keeping a blog.

“Neil Gaiman is an enormous personality and it is a genuine privilege to have him perform at the inaugural C2E2 to bring attention to the important work that is carried out by the CBLDF,” states Lance Fensterman, Group Vice President for the Reed Pop Culture Group and Show Manager for C2E2.

“The Reed Pop Culture Group’s commitment to the CBLDF is tremendous, and we’re honored to work with them to create this unforgettable evening of storytelling to raise funds for the CBLDF’s important work,” says Charles Brownstein, the CBLDF’s Executive Director.

An “Evening with Neil Gaiman” will be Mr. Gaiman’s only public appearance at C2E2. Tickets for the event will be available at http://www.C2E2.com beginning Monday, March 8th at 12pm Central Time. You do not need a ticket to C2E2 to attend. Tickets for the general public start at $30 and C2E2 VIP Ticket Holders can attend for as low as $12. Ticket prices will increase at the door. Visit http://www.C2E2.com now for full details and ticket pricing.

For One Night Only. On the 17th of April 2010, at 7pm in the Arie Crown / IGN Theater at McCormick Place in Chicago. In support of the First Amendment. Neil Gaiman. You don’t want to miss this.
