Since then, it has grown, and expanded into first the small part of the convention center in downtown Phoenix, to the larger venue, and has now gone from one host hotel to two, and the possibility of a third. Attendance has grown, more than doubling in the last five years from less than 10,000 to more than 20,000 in 2011. I always compare it to some of the larger cons, and I believe what I'm seeing is a convention still in its infancy, much the way that Dragon Con was 25 years ago. Come on down to the Valley of the Sun!

It is a mid-sized show with many comic book legends of the golden and silver ages, aith a few key hot new artists as well. It always has a few pop culture guests, like TV stars, rock musicians, and pro wrestlers. For collectors, this show always has some of the best dealers in the country, and you can find some of the oldest and most collectible comics there (if you have the money).

As a one-day show it does not always have the depth of programming that Big apple sued to, and the venue, the Penn Plaza Pavilion has its plusses and minuses (great location, slightly awkward floor space) but the organizers make the most of it.

Venue and layout was very similar to last year. Last years event did include Rob Liefeld so not having a name like that was somewhat disappointing but it was nice to see Chad Townsend there again.

Some of the vendors I have seen before at other events but it just seemed like there were some really good pickings this time around. Most of the vendors were ready to deal and that is always good.

Overall, this event was fun, well managed and worth attending. Maybe its just wishful thinking but I think this event has some potential for growth next year.

As vendors at the show, we were treated great! Check in and set up was easy and the people we were near were all wonderful. Everyone we met could not have been more genuine and welcoming.

I ended up as a last minute replacement on a panel and the entire experience was great! The audience had great questions and was very engaging. There was quite a bit of debate, but it was respectful and a great way to learn about differing opinions.

Can't wait for SPACE in 2011!

It was a great time and there was a lot of quality work available in comic form as well as crafty shwag.

The venue was nice, although paying for parking means it's a good idea to go in a group. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance so it is easy to stay all day.

I rated special events low in the middle only because I did not attend any and it is a required field. No idea whether they were great or boring.

The overall feel was very inviting and people were happy to talk and discuss their work. There were a few people who were trying to sell sell (and, why not?), but most folks were happy to chat and talk about their favourite artists and other artists at the show worth checking out.

I'll definitely be heading back next year.
