Good Fun, Southern Style

As an attendee since Year 2, CoastCon is my fannish hometown and part of my annual must-do list. It's a broad-spectrum convention with a little something for everyone, a wonderful variety of guests and the best darned folks I know.

Although it was rocked back on its heels by Hurricane Katrina back in 2005, CoastCon has not only survived but continues to build once more even as its Gulf Coast surroundings likewise do. It's the warm, wonderful fannish community that wouldn't let it die that keep me coming back. They put the life in this party.

While the present venue does have a pricey food-service with an exclusive contract, I wouldn't hold that against CoastCon. After all, there's plenty of off-site affordable eats to be found. :)

Come on and join the fun!

Small but Fun Convention

I have been going to CoastCon for a good 16+ years now, and it is a hell of a good time. The people are nice, the games are welcoming, and guests tend to be very approachable.

Pros: Fun atmosphere, Small but not confining, good People, Generally lots to do

Cons: The Venue is nice and spacious, but is subject to overpriced, not very tasty food. Most con goers jump out for food to save money.

Over all a great con though. I have enjoyed it so much that I have been volunteering the last few years to help make the con even better.

I hope to see you next year.
