Press Release: Anime-SPARK! is excited to announce that Minneapolis pop-punk band Atlas On Strike will be headlining a concert at Anime-SPARK! on Saturday night, joined by anime cover band Cascade Nightmare. Anime-SPARK! is an anime convention returning for the second year to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The event brings together hundreds of anime fans in celebration of Japanese animation and popular culture, with a ticket price of just $35 per person at the door. Anime-SPARK! 2012 will be held February 16 - 19, 2012 at the Clarion Hotel and Convention Center.

Atlas On Strike is a four piece Pop-Punk band hailing from Minneapolis, MN. A new band on the scene, Atlas On Strike has already released and EP and full-length album as well as feverishly played a multitude of shows. Their upcoming album "This Is Life" is set to be released Spring 2012. The members of Atlas On Strike are Matt (Bass), Josh (Guitar/Box/Keys), Paeton (Drums/Brutal), and Jack (Guitar/Vox).

Cascade Nightmare is a local anime theme cover band from the Cedar Rapids area. They have been a band for almost two years, and anime fans for... ever. Started as a side project their anime covers quickly took over their time and priorities. They currently have two members, Sebastian Foreman (Lead Guitar, Backup Vocals) Mike Stuefen (Lead Vocals, Bass) and their drum machine RC-30 (Drums, Keyboard).

The Atlas On Strike and Cascade Nightmare concert will not be the only dance/music event at the convention. Friday includes an hour-long Formal Dance lesson, hosted by professional instructor Jessie D. Eckles, followed by a two-hour Formal Ball Friday evening. There will be a rave dance both Friday night and Saturday night, featuring DJ Oso as well as Lucid Beats, in addition to Anime-SPARK!'s house DJs.

Press Release: Voice actors Quinton Flynn and Chris Rager will be returning to Anime-SPARK! for the second year, as Anime-SPARK! returns to the Clarion Hotel and Convention Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Anime-SPARK! will be held February 16-19, 2012, and registration is $30 through October 20th, 2011.

Quinton Flynn, a native of Cleveland, is most well known for providing the voices for Reno in Final Fantasy: Advent Children and Kon from Bleach. He was also featured as Axel in Square-Enix's Kingdom Hearts series, and he was also Raiden in the Metal Gear Solid series. His anime credits include Iruka-sensei and Deidara in Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, Marcus Damon in Digimon Data Squad, Carl in Blood+ and Doctor Riddles in Zatch Bell!

His roles outside of anime include famous animated characters such as Jonny Quest, Spiderman, Speed Racer, The Human Torch, Timon, Snowbell in Stuart Little, just to name a few. His television and film appearances include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, King of Queens, Animaniacs, Woody Woodpecker, Robot Chicken, and many more.

Chris Rager is especially known as the voice behind Mr. Hercule Satan and King Yemma in Dragonball Z. He was also featured as Arlong, the leader of the fish people on the popular "One Piece," among several other characters. Chris has been heard in T.V. commercial ads across the country for companies like Taco Bell, Southwest Airlines and Visa. Although he enjoys the T.V. exposure, Christopher holds voice acting closer to his heart. You may have also heard Chris in Animes such as Blue Gender, Case Closed, Black Cat, Desert Punk, Lupin III, Full Metal Alchemist, Yu Yu Hakusho, Samuri 7 and Sgt. Frog. Chris has also been heard in such video games Spike out: Battle Street, Stuntman Ignition, Bloodrayne, Roadkill and many others.

Quinton Flynn and Chris Rager will be participating in fan discussions, answer questions, and signing autographs throughout the convention.

Anime-SPARK! is the first winter Iowa anime convention. Events include a cosplay contest, video gaming, anime screenings, dealers, an artist alley, contests, fan panels, workshops, Japanese lessons, cultural events, a ConSuite with free ramen, rice and soda, and many more. QC Anime-zing! is excited to announce that Anime-SPARK!, Iowa's winter anime convention, will be returning February 16-19, 2012 to the Clarion Hotel & Convention Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The convention, held in partnership with MaiOtaku.com, will have a valentine's theme for the second year.

Anime-SPARK! will feature voice actor guests of honor, a cosplay masquerade contest, artists, dealers, games, and more. This year will include a larger dealer's room, more video gaming, and even more events. Featured events to return from last year include a Formal Ball, Otaku Speed Dating, an Otaku Date Auction, a Rave Dance, a ConSuite, and more. Anime-SPARK! will run four days long, from Thursday evening through Sunday afternoon.

Registration for Anime-SPARK! will start at $25 from July 2011 through October 20th, 2011. Registration from October 20th, 2011 to January 20th, 2011 will be $35. Registration at the door is $40. Registration information can be found online at http://www.animespark.org/register
