QC Anime-zing! 2010, the premier anime convention on the Iowa/Illinois border is excited to announce two additions to their guest lineup: Carrie Savage, voice actress with roles in dozens of titles; and The Man Power, a rock n roll band.

Carrie Savage has lent her talent to over fifty anime and video game titles, from Paranoia Agent to Star Ocean to Tsubase Reservior Chronicles. In addition to her voice acting talents, she has a background in theater and is a small time film actress. She has also spent time helping struggling children and adults in third world countries.

The Man Power, who will be opening for Eyeshine on Saturday, is a rock n roll band that released their first self titled EP in 2008 with a CD release show with Japanese punk rock musicians Peelander-Z. The Man Power has played at anime conventions such as MTAC, EXPCon, and Persacon, and has shared a stage with groups such as The Slants, The Protomen, and Zombie Bazooka Patrol.TheManPowerThe Man Power

QC Anime-zing! guests so far now include Johnny Yong Bosch, his band Eyeshine, The Man Power, and Carrie Savage. Last month, QC Anime-zing! brought 160 fans to a small, "instant anime convention" in Peoria, IL after a local convention had been cancelled. Attendees said they were excited to attend QC Anime-zing! this June.

QC Anime-zing! ("QCAZ") will feature anime screenings, several panels, a cosplay masquerade, a concert, dance, video gaming, table top board games, an artist alley, a dealer's room, and a Con Suite hospitality suite. las_cruses_anime_day_2010Las Cruces Anime The Las Cruces Anime Day is proud to announce that it will be honored by the presence of Miss Monica Rial at its 2010 event as Guest of Honor.

Miss Rial, voice actress and ADR script adapter and director, has been working in the anime voice-over industry for ten years. As an actress for ADV Films and FUNimation Entertainment, she has lent her voice to over 150 anime titles. Miss Rial will be will be present at LCAD2010 interacting with attendees via panels, screenings and autograph sessions.

An event run by the El Paso Anime Coalition (EPAC) and sponsored by Anime Night!, a student organization at New Mexico State University (NMSU), LCAD2010 will take place on Saturday, January 30th, 2010 in NMSU's Corbett Center Student Union in Las Cruces, NM. Registration costs are $15 ($10 for EPAC09 attendees with badge, holder and lanyard) or $5 for a Dealers' Room-only pass.

zkon09_thumbZenkaikon is pleased to announce the attendance numbers for its 4th annual convention, which took place on November 7-8, 2009. The staff of Zenkaikon 2009 welcomed 1988 paid attendees over the course of the two-day event, which is a 47% increase over the previous year. This number does not include guests, dealers, staff, or complimentary memberships.

"Due to the surge in interest, we had to implement an attendance cap this year. We know this left some people disappointed, but we want to assure them that we are already working on acquiring a much larger venue for next year's event! Thank you to our many attendees for making Zenkaikon 2009 our biggest year ever."

The Zenkaikon staff looks forward to announcing their 2010 dates and location shortly.

Zenkaikon was formed by the merger of the anime and science fiction convention Zentrancon and the anime convention Kosaikon, both in the Philadelphia area. Founded in 2006, Zenkaikon held its 4th annual convention on November 7-8, 2009 at the Radisson Valley Forge. The fifth annual Anime South convention is being held at the beautiful Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Destin, Florida, on December 18th-20th, 2009. Anime South is a convention celebrating Japanese animation, music, and culture.

Anime South Anime South Voice actors Johnny Yong Bosch (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Trigun, Bleach, Code Geass) and Patrick Seitz (Ouran Host Club, One Piece, World of Warcraft, Naruto) will be there to talk about their current and new projects. Also appearing are musical guests MAJA, an extremely popular nerdcore rapper from Phoenix, Arizona, and Eyeshine, and "edge rock" band from West Hills, California. Model, actress, and cosplay artist Meredith Placko will also be attendance.

The convention will also have the largest Dealers Room in its history. Everything from Jpop CDs to Doujinshi from Japan will be there! There will also be computer and console gaming tournaments run by CRC Data Tech and Panhandle Gamers.

Pre-registration ends on November 30th, after which memberships will only be available at-the-door. However, access to ticketed events, such as the Murder Mystery Ball, Maid Cafe, and Tea Party, is not guaranteed without a pre-registered Bronze, Silver, or Gold membership. (note: Gold memberships have sold out for the event)

The hotel still has rooms available at the $99 rate block for the convention. They will take reservations until November 30th, after which the regular rack rates will apply. Hotel reservations can made by calling 850-267-9500. Convention code AMS should be used to obtain the $99 double occupancy rate. Please note that members can also check-in or check-out anywhere between December 16th and December 22nd and receive the same rate, depending on availability. Please call the hotel directly for flexible dates, along with additional discounts for convention attendees wishing to upgrade their rooms. Each of the 600 guest suites has a private balcony with a spectacular view of Florida's Emerald Coast. The minimum check-in age of 25 has been waived to 18 for our convention members.

The Can-Am Comics and Anime Expo will be held in Niagara Falls Canada at the famous Skylon Tower, March 12-14, 2010.

The show will feature displays from exhibitors covering both of these popular and interesting genres. While comic books and their collectors have been almost timeless, the Japanese cartoon animation forms (Anime) are relatively new.

Can-Am 2010Can-Am Anime has become a popular world wide phenomena due to their challenging plots, creative costumes and on going stories of intrigue.

At shows such as The Can-Am Comics and Anime Expo, it will be common to see show attendees dressed in the costumes of their favorite Anime Character.

There will be a continuous run, Anime Video theatre and Open Stage where various contests such as Best Costume, Name That Tune and other games will be featured, throughout the three day event.

For the comic book fanatics, one of the North East's largest display of new and used collectibles and readables will be featured from over 50 major and lesser known dealers from Canada and the United States.

The Artist's Gallery will feature drawings and paintings from today's creative geniuses. All the artists will have products for sale and will themselves be competing in the People's Choice Best Drawing Award to win the first prize of $250.00 cash and a feature spot in all future shows.

For the intellects who like to know the How's and Why's of Anime and it's diverse and colorful characters and plots, free panel discussions and forums will offer the chance to hear the experts and offer inputs for all attendees.

Providing the topics for the discussions will be the entrants in the ANIME CLUB CONTEST during which the crowd will vote for their favorite topic and presentation with the winning club receiving the first prize monies of $1,000.00. Comic book creators and seasoned collectors will also be sharing their knowledge and crafts in several of these free sessions.

Attendees will be able to meet and greet the some of the more popular voices of Anime in the show's autograph section, staffed by actors who produce the products.

With the venue offering access to over 20 million possible attendees from both sides of the border, the show, while in it's first year, gives all indications of being widely successful due to the lack of other similar events ever being held in the area.

The Skylon Tower itself, is one of The Fall's principle attractions offering panoramic views of the whole lush Niagara region as well as having a large full service arcade plus food court and other features. All of the famous Niagara Attractions are located within walking distance of the Can-Am Comics and Anime Expo assuring that many families will make a it a fun weekend to come to the Falls.

Show hours will be Friday March 12 from 5-10, Saturday from 10 until 7 and closing day, Sunday March 14 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Daily admissions will be $15.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 12 and under. Week End passes will be sold for $35.00 for the event.
