Join DCE’s Editorial Art Director, Mark Chiarello, for an informative orientation session that will explain how DCE’s Talent Search works and discuss the different needs of the DC Comics, Vertigo and MAD Magazine brands. If you want to learn what DCE looks for in artists and how to improve your chances of becoming a working professional, then this is the panel for you! In order to have your work reviewed, attendance at this orientation session is mandatory. (Please note: Not all attendees are guaranteed a one-on-one review.) Room 1B01

Press Release: Hero Initiative, the non-profit organization that raises money for comic creators in need, is proud to announce its attendance at Dragon*Con over labor day weekend, September 2nd through 5th in Atlanta, Georgia. Hero will be located at Booth #BT23.

Hero’s special guests include world-renown artists Steve Dillon and George Pérez. Dillon is the artist of the critically acclaimed Preacher and Wolverine: Origin. Pérez, the longtime artist of New Teen Titans and Avengers, is also writing the relaunched Superman for DC Comics, which starts in September. Both have generously committed their time to raise money for Hero Initiative at Dragon*Con, so stop by booth BT23 and be the lucky recipient of a sketch or signature while contributing to a wonderful cause.

Captain America writer/artist Karl Kesel will also be at the Hero booth on Sunday. While you are getting a coveted sketch ask our helpful volunteers about becoming a Hero Initiative member! Do It!

Press Release: Top talent from DC Comics-The New 52 will be attending this year’s New YorkComic Con (NYCC). The annual pop culture extravaganza will include guests Mahmud Asrar, Brian Azzarello, Greg Capullo, Cliff Chiang, Tony Daniel, Dan DiDio, Keith Giffen, Paul Levitz, Francis Manapul, Fabian Nicieza, Joe Prado, Amy Reeder, Ivan Reis, Ardian Syaf, Scott Snyder, Peter Tomasi, and more.

Previously announced Guests of Honor, Geoff Johns, Chief Creative Officer of DC Entertainment, and Jim Lee, Co-Publisher of DC Entertainment, the creative team for JUSTICE LEAGUE #1 (August 31, 2011), will also be in attendance.

DC Entertainment will once again occupy a 3000 square foot booth on the show floor where fans will have an opportunity to mix and mingle with creators and staff. The preeminent publisher will be participating in several panels over the course of the weekend and officials at DC note that “behind-the-scenes” information about DC Entertainment will be revealed over the course of the weekend. The centrally located booth will feature talent signings, free giveaways and early peeks at the newest action figures, statues, busts and other amazing collectibles on display from DC Direct. The official New York Comic Con poster celebrates DC Comic’s JUSTICE LEAGUE in all their glory set against the iconic NYC backdrop of the Statue of Liberty. The poster is designed by Ivan Reis, Joe Prado and Rod Reis. The posters are not for sale, but signed copies are included in the NYCC VIP packages.

Press Release: Geoff Johns, Chief Creative Officer of DC Entertainment, and Jim Lee, Co-Publisher of DC Entertainment, will head the list of top talent who will be attending New York Comic Con (NYCC) on behalf of renowned comic book publisher DC Entertainment. Mr. Johns and Mr. Lee will both be Guests of Honor at the annual pop culture extravaganza, where they will be joined by other leading DC guests who will be announced in the near future. Johns and Lee, the extraordinary creative team of JUSTICE LEAGUE #1 (August 31, 2011), will participate in panels and will be on hand at the DC Entertainment booth along with other members of their creative team. JUSTICE LEAGUE #2 is scheduled to go on sale October 19, 2011, just three days after New York Comic Con concludes. Press Release: With September's relaunch of 52 titles from DC Comics, the Baltimore Comic-Con is happy to announce the addition of three creators heading up those titles - Scott Snyder, Paul Levitz, and Ron Marz - to the line-up for this year's show.

Scott Snyder, who will be writing DC's Batman and Swamp Thing, made a huge impact on the comic industry of the last year with his work on the New York Times bestselling series, American Vampire and his critically-acclaimed run on Detective Comics. Snyder is currently writing the Flashpoint tie-in miniseries, Project Superman. Snyder has been nominated for two Harvey Award this year in the categories of Best New Series and Most Promising New Talent for his work on American Vampire.

Paul Levitz, who will continue his run as writer on Legion of Super-Heroes in September, is a mainstay in the comic industry. For over 35 years, Levitz has served as a writer, editor, and executive at DC Comics. His work on the Legion throughout the late-'70s and '80s is widely-regarded as some of the most quintessential stories in the DCU. In addition to writing Legion, it has just been announced that Levitz will be writing the 6-issue mini-series, The Huntress, beginning in October. This year, he received a Harvey Award nomination in the category of Best Biographical, Historical or Journalistic Presentation for his work on 75 Years of DC Comics: The Art of Modern Myth-Making.

Batman fans rejoice. The Dark Knight Rises teaser trailer has been released. The teaser sheds some light on the potential storyline but most of all wets the appetite... Enjoy.

The kiosk background will be the new JUSTICE LEAGUE, with art by Jim Lee, offering a sneak preview of one of the most-anticipated titles of The New 52. You’ll get a printed photo in the booth and can pick up a digital copy online to easily share with your friends who can’t make it to the show.

JUSTICE LEAGUE OVERSIZED BAG: The famous oversized bags handed out at registration will feature the new JUSTICE LEAGUE, with art by Jim Lee, and are expected to be a must-have item, not to mention handy for lugging around giveaways at the show.

The first trailer for the upcoming Green Lantern Movie, slated for 2011, has been released to Youtube and other sources. The film stars Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, Blake Lively as Carol Ferris, Peter Sarsgaard as Hector Hammond and Mark Strong as Sinestro. Check out the trailer after the break.
