Press Release: Florida Supercon returns July 4-7, 2013 to the Miami Airport Convention Center (MACC) in Miami, FL for four full days of fun. The eight year old event is South Florida’s largest geek event, and will be attended by upwards of 20,000 fans and features over 350 comic book, film, television, stage, music, and anime guests. There will be over 1,000 events, including celebrity Q&A’s, industry panels, writing workshops, video game tournaments, bands, dance parties, cosplay contests, cosplay photo shoots, Florida Super Championship Wrestling, and much more! This year’s music festival will feature over 50 national and local bands. Florida Supercon is the largest cosplay event in South Florida, with thousands of cosplayers in attendance, offering dozens of events and competitions.

Press Release: Adam Baldwin has just been announced as a special guest for Florida Supercon 2013!

Adam Baldwin is best known for his roles as Jayne Cobb in Firefly and Serenity, John Casey in Chuck, Animal Mother in Full Metal Jacket, Ricky Linderman in My Bodyguard, Knowle Rohrer in The X-Files, Marcus Hamilton in Angel and Chad Shelten in Day Break. As a voice actor, Adam is well known as the voice of Superman in Superman: Doomsday and DC Universe Online, as well as the voices of Hal Jordan (Green Lantern), Rick Flagg and Jonah Hex in Justice League Unlimited, The Parasite in Young Justice and currently as Breakdown in Transformers: Prime.

Appearing in dozens of films since 1980, Baldwin rose to prominence as the troubled outcast Ricky Linderman in My Bodyguard (1980) and moved on to bigger roles in D.C. Cab (1983), Full Metal Jacket (1987), Predator 2 (1990), Independence Day (1996), The Patriot (2000) and Serenity (2005)—in which he reprises his role as the mercenary Jayne Cobb from the television series Firefly. His other work includes Radio Flyer (1992), From the Earth to the Moon (1998), The X-Files (Knowle Rohrer), Smoke Jumpers (1996), The Cape, Men in Black: The Series, Stargate SG-1, Angel, The Inside, NCIS and the 2005 remake of The Poseidon Adventure. He also starred in the ABC series Day Break as Chad Shelten in 2006. Baldwin parodied the Ricky Linderman character in the 2008 film Drillbit Taylor. Baldwin won a SyFy Genre Award in 2006 for Best Supporting Actor/Television for his role as Jayne Cobb in the television series Firefly.

Baldwin was cast as Clark Kent/Superman in the first DC animated universe movie, Superman: Doomsday, based on DC Comics’ The Death of Superman and recently co-starred in the NBC television show Chuck as NSA Agent John Casey.Baldwin has a role as a voice actor in the Xbox 360 games Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST, the latter putting him in the role of Cpl. Taylor “Dutch” Miles. Baldwin also appears as a voice actor in Half Life 2: Episode 2 for various resistance soldiers and citizens. Adam also appeared in Mass Effect 2, playing the role of Quarian marine Kal’Reegar. Most recently you can see him on ‘Castle’ working opposite his friend, Nathan Fillion.

Press Release: The Tampa Bay Comic Con has confirmed actress Lauren Cohan as a headlining guest for the April 6-7, 2013 convention. Lauren Cohan is famed for her role as Maggie Greene in AMC’s massively popular series, The Walking Dead and as Bela Talbot in CW’s series Supernatural. Tampa Bay Comic Con attendees will be able to meet and greet Lauren Cohan as well as get autographs and photo-ops at the convention.

Be sure to arrive early to pick-up a FREE Orlando Comic Expo exclusive poster featuring the Fantastic Four’s mighty clobberin’ hero, “The Thing”! The poster was created by Marvel Comics artist, Ron Wilson (who will be in attendance).

Press Release: Florida Supercon returns to Miami for its 7th annual show at the Miami Airport Convention Center. South Florida's Comic Book, Anime, Animation, Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Video Game Festival is set for Friday, June 29 through Monday, July 2, 2012. The 7th annual Florida Supercon will be the largest yet, with over 200 guest celebrities, artists, writers, filmmakers and bands taking over almost 150,000 square feet of convention space. Comic Book Legends Neal Adams and Carmine Infantino have just been announced as the 2012 Guests of Honor to the four day festival that includes celebrity guests, comic book publishers, artists, writers, vendors, Q&A's, parties, costume contests, anime programming, cosplay, panels, photo shoots, live music, video games and more. The event kicks off at 12:00pm, Friday, June 29 and the fun continues almost around the clock until 6:00pm, Monday, July 2.

Florida Supercon is proud to have two legendary Guests of Honor this year, Neal Adams and Carmine Infantino.

Neal Adams is one of the greatest comic book artists of all time! He helped revolutionize Batman, Superman, Green Lantern and Green Arrow for DC Comics. He helped revolutionize The Avengers and The X-Men for Marvel Comics. He redefined comic book art in the Silver Age and continues to be a huge influence in the industry as an artist, graphic designer and creator rights advocate. He has been working with both Marvel and DC recently on both Batman and The Avengers.

Carmine Infantino is one of the most important comic book creators of all time and will always be remembered as the personification of DC Comics’ Silver Age. Infantino helped to resurrect a dying comics industry in 1956, as the artist who launched the Silver Age with his co-creation; the FLASH and remains the best-loved Flash artist of all-time. In addition to The Flash, he is also the creator/co-creator of dozens of top characters including: Batgirl, Human Target, Poison Ivy, Animal Man, Black Canary, Deadman and many more. Mr. Infantino’s appearance is health permitting and is made possible with the assistance of Vanguard Productions, publisher of The Amazing World of Carmine Infantino.
